INTERNATIONAL
STUDENTS
The International Student Services Department provides guidance to international students. Staff members can assist students in interpreting U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations. Services include advising visa holders with travel, new I-20’s, social security and visa extensions, international student orientation, as well as other immigration matters.
The Aviator College of Aeronautical Science accepts International Students who wish to complete a certificate program, degree, or earn specific licenses. The Degree Program will take up to a 24 months for completion. Students complete six consecutive semesters. The last two semesters contain an internship component. Interns are required to instruct a minimum of 160 hours each of the two semesters. General Education requirements and previous flight training can be assessed for transfer credits by applying to the registrars office for determination.
Be at least 17.5 years of age for enrollment.

Demonstrate readiness to succeed in a challenging academic curriculum by providing proof of graduating from school equivalent to a US high school diploma by providing transcripts, diplomas and SAT scores (where appropriate).

Must be able to hold a valid FAA 1st class medical. (Can be obtained at the Aviator College’s campus).

Proof of Citizenship by providing a valid passport or for U.S. citizens a U.S. birth certificate and drivers license.

Proof of Funds.

For non native English speakers, proof of English by TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS.
The English language is the universal language of the world wide airline industry. International students must provide acceptable proof of English proficiency before enrolling in the College. The TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS examinations are acceptable proof. Students with three years post secondary education in English will also be accepted. Aviator College has opened its new Aviator English Institute of Training & Testing for those who require Aviation English Level 4 Requirement by ICAO English Language Proficiency Requirements.
U.S. Visas:
Students entering Aviator College and European Flight Training, under an M-1 Student Visa must reside in the housing that is provided to them by the school for the duration of their program.
Students entering Aviator College or European Flight Training under an F-1 Student Visa must reside in the housing that is provided to them by the school for the duration of their ratings. Once all instructor ratings are complete, the student may choose to leave the school accommodation while they are in their internship.
Students wishing to bring family over during their program, the family must be on the appropriate M-2 or F-2 Visa if the student wishes to request to move out of school - approved housing. If any students have any special disabilities or medical conditions that require monitoring or special conditions they must have a letter from their doctor in order to request to move out of school approved housing
CPT
CPT stands for curricular practical training and is an integral part of your F-1 academic program. Aviator College students start their internship doing 141 standardization as a flight instructor in training to be evaluated for OPT.
OPT

OPT stands for optional practical training and is a privilege that an F-1 Visa holder has to further their education by gaining practical experience at Aviator College as an instructor pilot or by working in aviation related field with an approved affiliate of Aviator College. This is not guaranteed with the issuance of an F-1 and Aviator College reserves the right to discontinue a student’s participation in OPT at any time. You will be eligible to apply for OPT after successful completion of your academic F-1 program.

International.Students coming to Aviator College for the Degree Program, Aviation English Program, or the F-1 Visa Professional Pilot Program, under a visa must have proof of medical insurance coverage when entering the United States, in accordance with Immigration 22 CFR 514.14(a) (published March 19, 1993.) Minimum medical insurance coverage required is:

Medical benefits of at least $50,000.00 per accident or illness.

Repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500.00Expenses associated with medical evacuation in the amount of $10,000.00A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness.

As a reminder, the insurance policy should not contain any statements or clauses which preclude you, the exchange visitor, from coverage due to the nature of this program, which is flight training. Please note that the insurance requirements, as established under 22 CFR 514.14(a), must be met for each exchange visitor and accompanying spouse or dependent. You may obtain this coverage from Compass Benefits Group .

FAA APPLICATION
When applying for a U.S. pilot certificate/rating on the basis of a foreign license you must submit a request of Verification of Authenticity of his/her license to the FAA’s Airmen Certification Branch (AFS-760) http://registry.faa.gov.
Once the Airmen’s Certification branch has verified the authenticity and the validity of the foreign pilot license and medical license with the foreign civil aviation authority, a verification of authenticity letter will be issued to the designated Flight Standard District Office and a copy sent to the applicant.

Additionally, holders of CAA licenses issued by the United Kingdom need to submit an additional form to the CAA. You can download the required form from their website.
Upon arrival in the United States an Instructor will guide you through the rest of the application process. You will meet the local FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE), who will need to see your foreign licenses, medicals, and passport along with your verification letter. This process currently costs $50. You will be issued a temporary airman certificate, which will later be replaced by an FAA Private License based on a foreign license. This license will not be valid until a bi-annual flight review has been completed which will be conducted as part of your check out before flying solo.
Contact Admissions at least two weeks in advance of your arrival, to coordinate start date and arrival details.
FAA Medical & Fingerprints can be completed on arrival at Aviator.

Preregistration with the TSA
Log on to the TSA web site at http://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov. Scroll down, select new account and provide all information requested. Once completed you should receive an email from the TSA with your User ID and a temporary Password.
Application for training with
a training provider in the US
Log on to the TSA web site and enter your User ID and temporary Password. The system will help you to create your own password (easier to remember for future access). Your personal control panel will then appear. Proceed to the personal information folder on the upper left window and click on it. The system will take you through a 9-step process for your application. Be ready to provide information such as:

Course information and duration of training
Return to your TSA home page and scroll down to the bottom portion of the page. You will see a table showing the current status of your application.
Select the icon corresponding to the review of your application. The system will check on the validity of your application and will guide through the corrections to be made if there are any errors. Once corrected you can click on the icon corresponding to the submission of your application.
The system will submit your application to us for validation. When your application has been validated you will be notified via e-mail by the TSA.
When your application has been validated, log-on to the TSA website again and scroll down to check the status. You should see your application has been validated by us and the dollar sign icon will be available. Click onto the dollar sign icon to pay your processing fee(s). This will lead to a secure connection on which you can use your credit card.
You will receive a payment confirmation email and information for the collection of your fingerprints.
The TSA will then review your application (it may take 30 to 45 days) and will notify you of their final decision by email or regular mail. Once your application has been accepted by the TSA they will issue approval for you to begin flight training.
INTERNATIONAL
STUDENT VISA
If you are planning to come to the U.S. for the Aeronautical Science Degree Program (including flight training), you must enter on a Student Visa. The College is approved by the INS to issue paperwork for visas under the Foreign Student Exchange Visitor Programs.
Aviator College provides a certificate of eligibility (I-20) to all admitted international students. The form is used to apply for the F-1 or M-1 Visa. The form verifies to U.S. immigration officials the student is academically qualified to attend the College, and has sufficient funds to cover the required period of study, and that subsequent funds will be available for the future. Students must demonstrate proof of financial support at the time of application.

Upon receipt of your application, deposit, and all required documents for enrollment, you will receive the original I-20 or IAP-66 student visa form via overnight mail at the address provided. Remember you must provide a complete physical address in order for delivery to occur.

You must take the original visa form to the U.S. Embassy in your country for approval. Please inform admissions of your tentative arrival date and your flight information so a representative may meet you at the airport to welcome you to the USA and Aviator College of Aeronautical Science & Technology. ENROLLMENT
INSTRUCTIONS
International students enrolling in one of our programs or individual courses must enter the United States on a visa issued by Aviator Flight Training Academy and must stay in Aviator housing for the entire duration of their visa.
Aviator is approved by the INS to issue paperwork for the M-1 and F-1 visas under the foreign student exchange visitor program. The M-1 or F-1 Visa may be issued to International Students who enroll in approved courses. If you are planning to come to the U.S. for flight training, you must enter on an M-1 or a F-1 Student Visa.
Complete the Online Application & Deposit Form, Your deposit will be held on your student account and will secure your enrollment date.
Upon receipt of your application, deposit, and all required documents for enrollment, the original I-20 or IAP-66 Form will be sent to your home. Remember we must have a complete physical address for proper delivery.
When you receive the original I-20 Form, take it to the U.S. Embassy in your country for approval. Please inform the school two weeks in advance of your arrival date and your flight information. A school representative will meet you at the airport to welcome you to the College.

Submit all documentation required for acceptance including; official High School Transcripts, a color copy of your current, valid passport, copies of any pilot certificates received, college entrance examination scores ( ACT, SAT, CLAST or equivalent), TOFEL, TOEIC or IELTS scores (if required), proof of funds to cover the cost of the program, and any material that will help the Admissions office determine eligibility for enrollment and transfer credit. F1 Visa program is for aspiring International Students who wish to enroll in our Commercial Pilot Program with instructor ratings and then apply to stay with us as Flight Instructors to help build their time toward the ATP Rating. (Airline Transportation Pilot Rating, 1500 hours). The Program takes 24 -36 months for completion. Phase one of your training takes approximately nine months to complete. Phase two is the OPT program where you stay on as a flight instructor to build your time towards the 1500 hours. Our Flight Instructors typically flying 70 to 120 hours a month of which approximately half of the hours are multi-engine.

Degree seeking students enrolled in the College will complete twelve months of instruction, a minimum of 320 hours of CPT (Internship), and will then apply to stay on as an instructor in the F1 OPT Visa program.
